The Armenian cucumber is a vine, technically a melon, but used as a cucumber. Originating in Asia and the Middle East, it thrives in warm to hot climates and is notably more heat-tolerant than typical cucumbers.

Its long, slender, ribbed fruit has thin skin, few seeds, and a mild, sweet flavor. It’s highly valued for fresh eating in salads and sandwiches because it doesn’t need peeling and is never bitter. It’s also suitable for pickling and can be used in cooked dishes.
